Employee Spotlight: Sabri Cakdi

Our own Sabri Cakdi for was cited within Railway Age’s March 2023 issue on Wheel / Rail Friction! Sabri’s research at TTCI titled “Modeling of Low Rail & Wheel Rolling Contact Stresses” was featured we couldn’t be prouder. This recognition highlights their expertise and dedication to the rail industry.

Sabri Cakdi is an innovative leader in the field of track geometry measurement. He has significantly contributed to researching and developing new methods and systems that help keep railroads moving safely. Sabri is a native of Turkey and attended Istanbul Technical Center, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Sabri continued his education in the US at Colorado State University, receiving his Master’s Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. His education prepared him for his first role in the rail industry. He spent nearly nine years at the Transportation Technology Center, Inc. (TTCI), testing and simulating rail car equipment for their performance and safety. During his time at TTCI, Sabri presented his research around the globe at industry events such as International Heavy Haul Conference in Australia, the Joint Rail Conference and more. Since 2018, he has also been a member of Committee 2 for the American Railway Engineering Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA). We couldn’t be happier to have him on board at Holland currently as our Senior Director of Product Development.
