Holland’s HAMR™ Service Wins REMSA Innovation Award

Holland’s HAMR™ Service Wins REMSA Innovation Award

October 24, 2022

Holland is proud to have received the 2022 Innovation Award from REMSA (Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association) for our HAMR™ service!

The Innovation Award honors organizational achievement by a REMSA member company which creates an innovative solution, product, or piece of equipment that better serves previous methods of completing a similar task within the railroad maintenance-of-way industry.

Holland’s Automated Manganese Refurbishment (HAMR™) provides robotically controlled welding procedures to build back damaged areas on frogs and crossing diamonds to like-new conditions. This service offers several benefits, including higher quality repair with lower porosity than traditional methods and is 2-3x faster than the manual process. From a safety aspect, the operator can move away for a passing train on adjacent tracks while the robot builds back material and does not need to work over fumes for prolonged periods. A complete refurb service includes a HAMR™ weld warranty.

Thank you to our research and development team as well as our HAMR™ team for working diligently to get this service up and running for our customers and for bringing life to Holland’s core value of improvement. We’re looking forward to continuing to provide our customers with new and improved products and services to keep their railways moving safely and efficiently!
