Happy July! We're so excited to introduce to you another Holland Summer intern. Meet Nicole Lynch! She is currently interning within our Accounting department. We asked Nicole to share a little bit about herself and here's what she had to share.
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Hello, all! I am Nicole. I am from Peotone, Illinois, and I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Olivet Nazarene University. I will be graduating in May 2021 with the credit hours needed to sit for the C.P.A. exam. I have already received my associate’s degree from Joliet Junior College, where I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the JJC Business Club.
Why did you choose Holland to apply for an internship?
When I was at Olivet’s Internship and Job Fair, I was interested in working for Holland due to the company’s mission and values as well as the nature of the internship. After working here, I have been able to see how Holland’s employees incorporate the company’s values in their actions and words.
Walk us through an average day:
Each day is different and brings new opportunities to expand my skill-set. I usually wake up early, get ready, and take care of my co-worker-my dog, Shadow!
After logging onto my computer, I check my e-mails, respond to any messages, and create a plan for my day. My days are filled with meeting my co-workers on Teams and working on projects while I learn new skills. I have been rotating through various departments (accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable) throughout this experience, and I am excited to continue to meet and learn from new people! Although I originally did not expect to work remotely, everyone has been incredibly welcoming while ensuring I still have a valuable internship experience!
Welcome to the Holland family, Nicole! We're happy to have you with us this summer!
