Rail Profile Measurement System

Holland's TrackSTAR® vehicles use lasers and cameras to measure more than 300 points on the rail surface for full railhead profile assessment and rail inclination.

Through our post-processing software packages we are able to quantify rail information including: rail size, vertical and gauge-face wear, field wear, lip, gauge-face angle, and cant.

This data can then be used for rail wear analysis and rail replacement forecasting.

Benefits:

    •  Spot maintenance indication/prioritization
    •  Rail classification by wear
    •  Long-range rail replacement planning (rail program)
    •  Verification of grinding program effectiveness
    •  Maximization rail life
    •  Locate areas of accelerated rail wear and take corrective action

   Rail Profile

TrackSTAR® collects optical profile images of the rail providing rail section identification, rail wear assessment, and rail classification.

     Historical Comparison

Rangecam software can be used to overlay rail wear data collected over time (tonnage), and provides effective rail replacement planning tools.

          RangeCam Text Summary

This Rangecam report provides a quick assessment for an entire subdivision of the types and wear conditions of the rail.
