Data Process Management
Data Process Management
Holland®
provides complete data processing services to ensure the quality of rail
profile, track geometry, GRMS, and rail defect data. The Rangecam Office System
is used to process, align and incorporate:
- Track geometry data
- Rail profile data
- Rail and track defect data

Data processing experts use
specialized Office System tools to eliminate erroneous or inaccurate information and
ensure data quality. Additional tools provide:
- Rail recognition to accurately identify the measured rail section.
- Historical cleanup to
accurately align current and previously recorded rail profile and track
geometry data.
Processed data is delivered on DVD or is uploaded to a server for Enterprise users or data.
Data Storage
Holland® can store and maintain a railroad’s current and historical track measurement database. Processed data is stored on a secure server and is readily available for analysis or generation of on-demand reports. Storing the processed data on a central server ensures that all maintenance and maintenance planning personnel have access to and are working with the same current/historical data. Custom reports can be generated on demand for customers storing their data on the Holland® server.
On-Demand, Custom Reporting
Holland® provides on-demand custom reporting services for any of the data it manages. Pre-programmed or on-demand custom reports can be used to identify troublesome areas and assist in maintenance planning and track management. For example, Holland® can query a database to:
- Identify and locate areas of wide gauge, high wear, and locations in which rail or track is nearing or exceeding maintenance or condemning limits.
- Locate and inventory all rail profile sections in use on a railroad, using customizable wear class definitions.
- Identify and locate combinations of conditions that are not readily recognizable from strip charts, but can impact operating or maintenance requirements.
- Determine the length and degree of each measured curve and spiral, or each section of tangent track.
- Overlay data from previous measurements to identify wear trends and predict maintenance requirements.

Sample reports include:
- Multi-run Wear Chart - showing gauge and rail wear.
- Multi-run Wear Chart - showing combined rail wear, rail type and wear classification.
- Mutli-run Rail Profile Chart - showing rail wear over a number of test runs with original rail profile.
- Rail Wear Trend Chart - showing expected rail replacement date based on condemning limit and wear rates to date over a number of test runs.
- Segment Performance Chart - shows annual rail wear on curves over a number of test runs.
- Rail Inventory Table - shows rail inventory in-track and to customer developed wear classifications.
- Tabular Wear Trend Chart - by time shows wear classifications by segments in tabular format.
