Holland's Track Testing Services
Holland Company’s fleet of TrackSTAR® heavy high rail vehicles deliver high quality cost effective automated testing data for scheduled track maintenance and planning. TrackSTAR® (Track Strength Testing Analysis and Recording) will identify out-of-tolerance track geometry and track strength (cross-tie and fastener) conditions, process this information in its on-board computer systems and provide you with the track information you require to ensure a safe operation. Holland currently has a fleet of nine track TrackSTAR® units designed for Class 1, Regional, Shortline and Industrial railroad customers available for contract services. Additionally TrackSTAR® TTV (Transit Testing Vehicle) has been designed specifically with transits in mind. TTV is able to test through 85-foot radius curves (approximately 75 degrees of curvature), handles all track gages (standard and various broad gages), fits tight subway and power rail clearence envelopes, and is four-wheel drive to handle the steep grades. TTV provides geometry and rail profile measurements just like the heavy TrackSTAR® and also provides an assessment of tie and fastener condition with a "mini-load axle" gage measurement. All of our units are self-propelled, have quick on-off track capability, and eliminate the need for railroad or transit support equipment and fuel to transport the equipment. TrackSTAR® units provide real-time track geometry, track strength measurements and provide strip charts and defect exception reports so that your track personnel can make immediate repairs to maintain track safety and track standards. TrackSTAR® collects the following data: · Track Geometry Measurements · Full measurement of all geometry parameters · Measurements taken in one-foot increments · Defect locations painted in-track (optional) · Track Strength Measurements · Assessment of cross-ties and fasteners · Measurements taken in one-foot increments · Defect locations painted in-track (optional) · Rail Profile Measurements · Rail wear analysis · Measurements taken at user selectable increments To find out more about the data collected by TrackSTAR® check out the Sample Reports. Performance Based · Accurate, repeatable, quantifiable measurements of all geometry, track strength, and rail profile parameters. · Split load-axle technology delivering non-destructive loaded gauge measurements to find weak track locations. · Proven inertial-based laser optical measurement systems. · Real-time hard copy reports generated for immediate follow-up inspection or repair. · In-track defect identification with two-level threshold paint system (red & yellow) · Computer controlled accuracy. · Testing to FRA, Transport Canada or user defined threshold categories. Cost Effective · Holland’s Heavy and TTV TrackSTAR® units deliver operational flexibility to be where you need us, when you need us on Class1, Regional, Shortline, Industrial or Transit systems. · Track testing speeds to 30 mph delivering up to 150 miles of tested track per day. · Daily/weekly/long term pricing schedule delivers efficient, cost effective service. Planning · Strip Charts and exception reports, both hard copy and CD-Rom in PDF format. · Post-process Tie Statistics and Tie Planning Reports delivered to aid tie maintenance planning. · Rail Profile report on hard copy and CD-Rom for rail planning and management · Various levels of Track Management and Planning software for test history, track maintenance planning & forecasting and business case development.
