The Low Consumption Weld: Less Labor, Less Cost

As the world leader in rail welding technology, Holland® has introduced the Low Consumption Weld.  The Low Consumption Weld reduces theWeld average consumption of rail from 1-1/2 inches to 3/4 of an inch per weld providing a more economical approach to rail welding.

With less labor needed to prepare the track and less free rail needed to install replacement rail plugs, productivity is increased while railroad support costs are lowered.

How do we produce Low Consumption Welds?

We can accomplish Low Consumption Welds because of our Intelliweld® control system.  With this control system, Holland's welders can monitor rail movement and the entire weld process so adjustments can be made more frequently.  High-quality welds are produced with less rail consumed.
